Who We Are
The Ukrainian Canadian Professional & Business Association of Calgary (UCPBA) is a registered non-profit Society in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. We are a Branch of the U.C.P.B. Federation, similar to other UCPBA Branches located in other Cities across the country. We are an Association of Canadian business people and professionals of Ukrainian descent.
Collectively, our Members participate in activities that advance our professional growth, promote our Ukrainian heritage and raise an awareness of local, national, and international issues that impact Ukrainian Canadians.
Our cultural Programs provide a public forum for Ukrainian Canadian Artists, Performers and Writers.
Through our regular Newsletter, our Distinguished Speaker Series and our support of artistic performances, we have made others aware of the contributions made by Ukrainian Canadians.
Our successful Scholarship Program provides financial assistance, to both young and old, in advancing and bettering their education and working skills, so that they can contribute more to our Community.
UCPBA Programs are distinctive in that the majority of our Programs are the major source of assistance to those in need in Calgary.
What We Do
We:
- Establish a professional and business network of Ukrainian Canadians in order to promote closer ties and business contacts;
- Preserve the Ukrainian Culture, Language and Community in Calgary thereby enriching the vertical cultural mosaic of Canadian Society;
- Recognize the contribution of Canadians of Ukrainian descent in the business, professional, and public life of Canada; facilitate a platform in bringing together Canadians of Ukrainian descent for cultural, social, charitable and fellowship purposes;
- Encourage an association of all Canadians of Ukrainian descent;
- Encourage and support the orderly development of a pluralistic and democratic Ukraine;
- Promote closer and mutually-beneficial business development between Alberta Companies and Ukrainian Ventures;
- Promote greater understanding of our heritage and its contribution to Canadian society generally and to Alberta especially;
- Provide assistance to people in need and to new Canadian immigrants from Ukraine in the form of financial help, social integration, education, career opportunities and other needs as required.

Our mission is to provide programs for Canadians of Ukrainian descent that reinforce our common heritage and make us valuable contributors within our society.
Our History
UCPBA - Calgary is celebrating its 40th Anniversary. The Club was originally chartered in 1966 with approximately 50 members. The Organization was formed by several local business people to create friendships and a sense of community among Ukrainian Canadians in our city and give support to various business endeavours.
